As an entrepreneur and award-winning physician, Dr. Kirk Hollohan saw that there was a problem: people were waiting too long to get access to the health care they needed. Sometimes simple issues were complicated by unnecessary delays, and other times, important issues were being put off because it was just too much effort to see a doctor. So, he created 1MED.

Dennis Smith, RN, NP Nurse Practitioner

Dennis (pronounced “Denny”) is passionate about timely, patient-involved care. He joins Kirk and other 1Med physicians in reviewing clients’ symptoms and medications, refilling prescriptions, and providing medical advice.

A Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, Dennis has worked in Emergency Medicine, Orthopeadics and Nephrology (kidney transplants and dialysis) at London Health Science Centres. He has also worked in Family Practice in the small rural community of Newbury, Ontario.

Throughout his career, Dennis has relished the opportunity to learn and grow alongside many leaders in the medical community, including participating in research studies to better meet the needs of patients and their caregivers.

Dennis received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from Western University, his Nurse Practitioner designation from McMaster University, and a Masters of Nursing from the University of Windsor.

Nicole Meurs Medical Office Administrator

Nicole is a medical office administrator who is passionate about organization, continuous improvement, and helping people optimize their health.

Nicole serves as the first point of contact for many 1Med clients. She monitors the 1Med app to triage and respond to client inquiries. And she books client appointments, answers questions, and follows up on specialist referrals.

Nicole received her diploma in Medical Office Administration from Westervelt College and a Personal Support Worker certificate from Fanshawe College. She has served as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for Extendicare and in customer service and office administration roles in the construction and automotive sectors.
